DeckWright Anti-Slip now in Rochester

Following the success of our Hull based anti-slip timber decking service, we’ve now invested in a second facility located at our Rochester site in Kent, better serving the southern region and catering for the increased demand for DeckWright anti-slip decking.

Originally launched in 2012, WJ Group offers a unique service that helps merchants, contractors and specifiers to add value to their timber decking. With no minimum order, the company can run almost any specification of grooved timber through its anti-slip machine to create the fully tested and approved DeckWright Anti-Slip decking. Enhancing the decking with a specially developed resin and aggregate formulation, DeckWright Anti-Slip scored a PTV of 71 in testing and is suitable for even the heaviest commercial footfall locations, whilst also proving easy to install in domestic situations.

We are also supplying an increasing number of contractors and commercial operations who wish to put safety first and lay a robust non-slip timber deck.

The demand for timber decking as an outdoor surface is certainly on the rise and yet with four out of the five wettest years recorded since 1910 occurring after 2000, we’re dealing with much more unpredictable weather. Within a market research project that we commissioned to Hull University recently, 73% expressed positive interest in anti-slip decking when presented to them. End users and businesses alike are becoming increasingly aware of the risk that is posed by wet timber decking and the very real need for non-slip decking products such as DeckWright.

Our second machine in Rochester will allow us to service many more businesses in the south with DeckWright Anti-Slip decking, helping us to build awareness of the brand in a rising market and achieve our goal of delivering value added products and services to help our customers grow”.
