Whilst WJ Group has been providing Wolmanit Firestop timber fire retardant treatment for many years, we’re now able to offer a full service for timber that is to be used externally.
Tested on more than 30 species of wood, WJ Group is the only provider of Wolmanit Firestop fire retardant timber treatment in the UK. This high pressure process is environmentally friendly, complies with a wide range of international fire standards (including BS EN 13501-1 Euroclass B & C) and produces a colourless result, maintaining the natural character of the timber.
Typical applications include facades, cladding, walls, floors, ceilings, scaffold boards and pallets.
From May 2015, WJ Group will be able to enhance this timber treatment with the addition of a vacuum coated line which can add a secondary coating to the timber, resulting in its suitability for external use.
Wolmanit Firestop significantly reduces ignition, impedes flame spread and slows down the burning process. Many builders, specifiers and contractors are acutely aware of the fire risk when using timber on site that has not been effectively fire retardant treated.
Mark Eggleston, WJ Group MD comments: “There is a very real need to pay particular attention to the fire retardant treatment of timber and we’re pleased to be able to offer a service for both internal wood and timber that is to be used externally. The risk of fire is very real and our Wolmanit Firestop treatment helps the timber and construction industry to manage this concern professionally and most effectively.”
