Timber decking can easily develop algae and moss when it's exposed to damp weather and rain, making it a major slip hazard if it isn’t adequately protected with anti-slip material. DeckWright anti-slip boards provide a reassuring grip to reduce the risk of injury in wet or slippery conditions.
DeckWright anti-slip technology is often used in full timber decking areas or in places of higher risk, such as steps or walkways. Even when they’re applied to heavy-traffic areas on commercial sites, the strips don’t deteriorate over time. They provide a longer life and better performance than other anti-slip products such as abrasive paints.
There is a misconception that plastic decking provides the best anti-slip solution. This just isn’t true as plastic decks anti-slip performance when wet is significantly lower than a wooded deck with DeckWright anti-slip (and at a much lower price).

Fully independently tested and approved by the Health & Safety Laboratory in Buxton, in accordance with British Standard BS 7976: 200. Grooved timber is generally used to create anti-slip decking. A resin and aggregate formulation fills at least two grooves, sitting slightly proud of the timber. This creates a sturdy grip underfoot, significantly reducing the risk of slipping – even when the decking is wet. Anti-slip timber decking is a long-term, professional solution. It won’t deteriorate over time. In fact, the grip is as good after ten years as it was on day one. By choosing factory manufactured anti-slip decking you won’t compromise on the look of your deck either. The resin and aggregate appears subtle, ensuring you still enjoy the pleasure of your timber expanse. Anti-slip decking gives you 365 days a year use, despite rain and ice.
