Park Home Decking - Dacre Lakeside Park In Brandesburton
At the stunning Dacre Lakeside Park in Brandesburton, our WJ Components team have manufactured and installed a brand new Abodo Wood Timber deck for a 65ft park home.
As we continue to offer high-quality engineered timber components to the caravan and park home industry, we have devised a revolutionary modular design to provide timber decking and sun decks to caravan and park owners across the UK. This project was for a 65ft Retreat park home.
The frame for the decking is created in spruce, treated to Use Class 4 for ground contact to help with weather resistance, insect damage and rot. The frame for the build is also modular, built off site in our factory. Designed to exact specifications of the park home, there were 8 modules in total, with four modules across the front of the park home and 4 running down the length of the van up to the door.
The module’s each have adjustable threaded insert feet into the bottom of the timbers to allow for easy and quick levelling on site. The feet also help to raise the timber from the ground, offering an extended life for the uprights. The design of the park home decking also includes optional extras; access steps and glass balustrades to the front of the van.
The modular frame bolts together seamlessly allowing for faster installation on site. Once the frame was levelled, WJ Component’s installation team were able to quickly install the Abodo Wood anti-slip decking boards to the frame using hidden screw fastening technology from CAMO. The anti-slip decking boards offer a true non-slip protection for users to have access to their decking area year-round in a range of weather conditions. The timber Abodo wood balustrade was then fitted along with the toughened glass inserts to create stunning, safe decking area. The team finally installed the decking steps, built to specification with a lower step height for easier access to the caravan for the residents. To finish the caravan decking area, a skirt was fitted around the complete perimeter of the park home and a gate was fitted to the access steps.
