DeckWright Wins WPA Treated Wood Project Of The Year 2024

We’re pleased to announce that our project in County Mayo has won The WPA (The Wood Protection Association) Project Of The Year 2024. As a leading timber treatment provider in the UK, WJ Group have the capacity to provide a range of timber treatment services. 

Two of the services we provided for this project were Use Class 4 treatment and our DeckWright Anti-Slip Decking treatment. The project was a boardwalk and WJ Group supplied 13,000 linear metres of treated decking for the project. The WPA (The Wood Protection Association) is a not-for-profit trade association. Together with its members, the WPA has a shared vision: to champion the use of timber as a building material. 



The WPA hold an awards night annually to celebrate both members and non-members achievements throughout the previous year. The awards and conference are held over two days and involve a golf competition and then a dinner with awards and then the conference the following day. This year, WJ Group had three nominees in a variety of different categories. 



WJ Group nominations were:

-	DeckWright – Project of The Year 2024: County Mayo Project
-	WJ Timber Treatments – WPA Benchmark Best Kept Treatment Plant: Rochester Site
-	FireWright – Project of The Year 2024: St Mary’s Primary School Project

We’re pleased to say that our DeckWright project won the category and our very own Adis Talic was able to collect the prize on the day.
